It gives them a spare man at the back and you want one of them when you’re up against Suarez

Brett, as Juve fan says, Prandelli probably knows what he’s doing. he’ll have some explaining to do.

My strategy of an in-game Earl Grey has been found wanting on England duty, so I’m going to switch to a Ceylon tea and see if we can see an immediate benefit.

There’s so much at stake for Costa Rica. But if it backfires… Colombia look excellent, but you’d fancy their chances against the Ivory Coast and they’d be clear favourites against Japan and Greece. Just a point against the group whipping boys and they avoid Colombia.

Gooner, Costa Rica are already through, and a point will ensure top spot, as Iain says.

Brown Dog, I think Uruguay have the edge in attack, but Italy are more than capable of sitting on a match for the right result.

Silver, I think Prandelli’s very wise to go to a back three. Group C isn’t the strongest

If, however, the scenario is a situation that “shocks the conscience of humanity”, and calls for getting involved in OPP (Other People’s Problems), I’d like to use the best weapon I can have available, to give me the best odds.

As far as optimizing the accuracy of the system goes, there is really only one logical choice for the upper: Suarez International’s own 10.5″ pistol upper with White Oak barrel and freefloat handguard. Unless you don’t mind showing up in the newspaper as a bunch of bloodstains on a floor, it behooves you to be prepared, and obtain the best tools, and the best skills available.

JD Lester is the Suarez International Staff Instructor for North Carolina.

Stay safe…Be dangerous.

It carries the Recce Pistol disassembled rather well, yet does not appear as a “gun bag”.

Why would I choose to carry a Recce Pistol instead of a Recce Rifle? Simple: Here in North Carolina, pistols are covered under our concealed weapon permits, while rifles are not. However, eye relief and weight were a concern. Mine is suitably accurate for the task and was built during the 2013 madness, the Suarez International 10.5 upper is the time now easy button solution.. This method allows for very fast reflexive fire during close-range engagements. A pistol using a rifle cartridge and a magnified optic will increase my effective range even more, and make difficult shots easier.

  Recce pistol - Copy

This pack offers discreet carry and blends well in most environments.

If you’re still not convinced of the concept, come to the Advanced Rifle Gunfighting course Alex Nieuwland and I are conducting the weekend of February 27-28, 2016, and I’ll let you try it out.

I view the AR pistol as an additional weapon, carried in addition to my first-line weapon, which is my red-dot Glock. Depending on the scenario, this may not be a game changer, but then again it might allow for face shots outside of the range of the pistol equipped with a non-magnified optic.

The addition of the magnified optic offers increased precision (provided the user is up to it), while a careful choice of optic and the skill to use it retains the close range speed and accuracy that can be had with an unmagnified red dot. This 10.5″ upper has proven to be more accurate than its 16″ competitors. This works like the older Armson Occluded Eye Gunsights: Keep both eyes open and the brain will superimpose the dot onto the target. The ballistics would still be the same, but where I think the Recce Pistol is most advantageous is target identification and precision shot placement at extended ranges. In each case, the perpetrator(s) had rifles. The Glock will always be on me, and will likely be all I need (or even have available) to solve a problem directly affecting me. The optic that I am using has the Leupold SPR Green FireDot reticle, which looks a bit busy at first glance.  I leave the objective lens cap closed when working in the close range environment, which removes the clutter and turns it into a simple green dot. To that end, I have been working with an AR pistol system using a Leupold 1.5 x 4 Mark AR Mod 1 for several months now. I call this my Recce Pistol, analogous to the Recce Rifle, which is a light rifle adapted for long range work, without giving up its close-range fighting capability.

Recce pistol pack carry

To people who are paying attention, the recent events in the United States and around the world have once again emphasized that YOUR personal safety is YOUR personal responsibility. In fact, having a loaded rifle or shotgun in your vehicle is illegal, even with a concealed handgun permit.  Also, the shortness of the Recce Pistol allows me to use a smaller bag to conceal it, making it more covert than a Recce Rifle would be.  All of this gave me a significant incentive to optimize my AR pistol, just like I have optimized my Glock.

In the close range engagement area, I was not limited by using the optic as described above, the Recce Pistol floated easily while running our standard Suarez International movement matrix.

When I want to take a more precise shot, flipping the objective lens cap up allows me to take advantage of the 4 power magnification. As great as my red-dot Glock is, in the end it is still an optimized pistol using a pistol cartridge without the benefit of a magnified optic. The Mark AR optic that I use now is lighter and has a pretty generous eye relief which facilitates using the optic in non-standard firing positions.

Think, for example, of the recent shootings in Texas, Paris, Tunisia and now Tennessee. During initial proof of concept testing, I mounted a Leupold MK4 CQT 1×3 on the pistol, and it performed OK. The absence of a stock that makes this AR a pistol turns out to actually be an advantage in those non-standard firing positions.

The AR Recce Pistol

Any AR pistol equipped with iron sights or an unmagnified red dot sight could potentially be turned into a Recce Pistol. Thus, the Recce Pistol concept was born.

Barca’s Keita ‘flattered’ by Liverpool link

“A challenge somewhere else is attractive to me and Liverpool are a top team with very good players.”

Keita admits the time may have come for a fresh start to be made, with a new challenge holding considerable appeal.

It has, however, been suggested that he could be on his way out of the club this summer, with there no shortage of willing takers waiting in the wings.

“I am flattered by the interest of Liverpool Football Club, one of the biggest clubs in the world,” said the 32-year-old midfielder.

“I love Barcelona and it is difficult to find a better team than them, but I am ambitious and want to play football week in, week out.

The Mali international is under contract at Camp Nou until 2014, but faces fierce competition for places in Catalunya.

He considers Liverpool to be one of the few clubs that could match his ambition, but he is keen to point out that no switch to the Premier League has been put in place.

Seydou Keita claims no decision has been taken over his future at Barcelona, but admits to being flattered by reports linking him to Liverpool.

“However, let’s wait until the end of the season with Barcelona and see what happens.

He remains an important figure in Pep Guardiola’s plans and has been a regular throughout his three years with Barca.

Fiorentina holds Juventus to a scoreless draw – National Football

As for the Viola, they placed in 8th, tied with Lazio, with 20 points. As stats showed, Juve had the advantage, barely. However, ACF Fiorentina has Udinese right behind with 18 points, still having to play their 14th round game this weekend.

Because of this outcome, Juve is in danger of Roma catching up. Sassuolo is in tenth place, and Roma should be the favorites to win the match.

According to other reports, the scoring chances were rare. Juve outshot the Viola 10 shots to nine. Close game but not goals and it could prove costly for Juve.

As reported, the Viola, or the Purple, played Juve pretty evenly. The draw put a halt on Juvis fourth-consecutive wins.. The defending champions also controlled the ball 51 percent of the time. Now, second place AS Roma will have a nice boost to catch up on Juvi.

Despite a scoreless tie with the Viola in the 14th round, Juventus FC remains in first place with 35 points. Juvi, being the champions of the Italian league, lacked the attacking power that it usually carries in a game, thus the result ended in a dismal scoreless tie.

ACF Fiorentina held three-time consecutive champions Juventus FC to a scoreless draw on Friday evening at their home, Stadio Artemio Franchi, for the opening of the 14th round of Serie A. The tie made Juve drop points for only the third time this season. If Roma defeats their opponent, Sassuolo, this weekend, Roma will only be a point behind Juventus FC

Anthrax Evidence Points to State Sponsor

The chances of inhaling them while walking in the woods are not only slim; they’re unheard of.

So a would-be anthrax terrorist wouldn’t prospect for these spores; he’d grow them. But it’s a rather select club.

This is one reason why former UNSCOM chief Richard Butler has echoed Spertzel’s apprehension about reports from the Czech government that hijacker Mohamed Atta met with an Iraqi agent in Prague months before the Sept. Army Medical Research Institute of Infectious Diseases around 1980 for research.

British and American scientists discovered that Ames was one of the strains that defeated the licensed U.S. 11 hijacking attacks.

The Russians have this know-how. Some of America’s top biological warfare scientists are edging closer to a conclusion they’ve resisted since receiving word of the first anthrax infection in Florida that the recent germ attacks involved an expertise only a government could provide.

Richard Spertzel, who directed the U.N. Quite simply, it killed vaccinated guinea pigs. One can find Ames “reference strains” in laboratories around the world.

But if the agents used in the attack are found to contain the telltale presence of certain compounds used in a professional drying process, this could be a very revealing clue. That’s the hard part.

A Select Club

Bill Patrick, a scientist who used to make anthrax weapons for the United States, patented a secret process that involved freeze-drying the spores, milling the resulting anthrax “cake” to yield particles of the proper diameter, then coating them with a special mixture to dampen electrostatic charges that cause clumping. The next step is making an aerosol. (Before you get too scared, antibiotics successfully kill the Ames strain). That amount would fit on the period at the end of this sentence.

If the particles are smaller than one micron, they are exhaled. Larger than five microns, and chances are the particles will lodge in the nose, or be caught in cilia that line the trachea. and British anthrax vaccines. According to this view, agents of a state-run biowarfare program, or rogue scientists from a nation with a biological arsenal, may have provided the perpetrators with advice, and possibly with the agent itself.

One indicator, Spertzel says, is particle size. 11 attacks.

Did the Iraqi provide Atta, the Egyptian pilot considered a linchpin in the World Trade Center attacks, with anthrax? “It’s not yet concluded,” says Butler, who says the United States is trying to answer this question with the help of the Egyptian government.

Investigators also have yet to point a finger at any one person or entity in the anthrax probe.

“While organized terrorism has not been ruled out,” FBI Director Robert Mueller said today, “so far we have found no direct link to organized terrorism.”

Looking at the Specs

In the effort to identify where the agents found in Florida, New York and Washington came from, forensic scientists stand to learn more from the particles’ “manufacturing specs” than they would from the spores’ DNA signature.

For decades, microbiologists have exchanged anthrax strains for research with few restrictions, even the most virulent isolates. A good anthrax “munition” requires more know-how than he says he’d expect to find in a laboratory run by al Qaeda, Osama bin Laden’s network, which U.S. Patrick calls this making the particles “slippery.”

It’s these particles that “deliver” the spores. Still, someone succeeded in manufacturing tens of thousands of particles, or more, to the required size to infect two victims with pulmonary anthrax. These are very narrow parameters.

Although spores of these precise dimensions do occur in nature, the chances of digging them up from soil, their natural habitat, are slim. Unless its a rare strain, Spertzel says the spores used in the attacks could have come from anywhere.

The “Ames” strain has been the focus of much speculation in the press, as law enforcement sources say it was the source of the Florida exposures. officials believe was behind the Sept. Special Commission biological weapons inspectors in Iraq, says a second confirmed case of pulmonary anthrax in Florida has deepened his suspicion that the attacks had the support of a foreign government. That took more than a mortar and pestle.

. Inducing pulmonary, or inhaled, anthrax requires 8,000 to 10,000 spores embedded in particles between one to five microns in diameter. For instance, the presence of aluminum clay, an anti-clumping agent employed in an air-drying process for anthrax, would point to professionals rather than amateurs, and narrow the field of possible suppliers.

It’s clear the Florida cases involved a less elegant preparation with spores of an inconsistent size. But it isn’t that rare. So do the Iraqis, among others. The strain was extracted from a dead cow in Ames, Iowa, in the 1950s, then sent to the U.S

World Cup 2014: Luis Suarez bite victim calls 4-month ban “excessive”

Suarez’s punishment was overwhelmingly seen as unfair by Uruguayans.

Suarez was banned from all football activities and stadiums for four months, suspended from Uruguay’s next nine internationals, and fined.

“Now inside me there are no feelings of joy, revenge or anger against Suarez for an incident, which happened on the pitch and is done,” Chiellini wrote in his blog for Sportlobster. This material may not be published, broadcast, rewritten, or redistributed. I sincerely hope he will be allowed to stay close to his teammates during the games, because such a ban is really alienating for a player.”

Uruguay will now be without its best player for its second-round match against Colombia on Saturday.

2014 CBS Interactive Inc. “There only remains the anger and the disappointment about the match. In 2010, Suarez was banned for seven matches for biting PSV Eindhoven’s Otman Bakkal while playing in the Dutch league, earning him the nickname “Cannibal of Ajax.” Suarez was suspended for biting another opponent, this time Chelsea’s Branislav Ivanovic, in April 2013.

“With the world against him, we want him to know that Uruguayans are for him,” said student Clara Bragard, who also carried the blue-and-white-striped flag.

President Jose Mujica was among some 1,000 people who went to Carrasco International Airport in Montevideo to meet Suarez Thursday night, but he left after being told that Suarez’s flight had been delayed.

Suarez quietly returned home to Uruguay on Friday following his expulsion from the World Cup, long after a crowd that had come to greet him as a national hero had drifted away.

He has also been banned in England for racial abuse.

Uruguay forward Luis Suarez puts his hand to his mouth after clashing with Italy’s defender Giorgio Chiellini during a Group D football match between Italy and Uruguay at the Dunas Arena in Natal during the 2014 FIFA World Cup on June 24, 2014.

A private jet carrying the star striker finally arrived at about 5 a.m., but Suarez left without making comments to the press.. He gives his soul to the team,” said Lucia Romanello, who came to the airport wrapped in the Uruguayan flag.

Uruguay’s football federation said it planned to appeal the ban, which leaves it without its star striker and leading goalscorer for next year’s Copa America, and most likely for the start of its qualifying matches for the 2018 World Cup.

Many in the country of 3.4 million have accused FIFA of punishing the small country to ease the way for larger nations in the Cup.

MILAN — Giorgio Chiellini believes Luis Suarez has been harshly punished by FIFA for biting his shoulder during their decisive World Cup match.

“I have always unequivocally considered the disciplinary interventions by the competent bodies, but at the same time I believe the proposed formula is excessive.

Suarez bit Chiellini’s left shoulder during a 1-0 win against Italy in the group stage on Tuesday.

This is the third time Suarez has been banned for biting an opponent. All Rights Reserved. At the moment, my only thought is for Luis and his family, because they will face a very difficult period.

“I came to encourage Suarez because Suarez is the God of the national team. The Associated Press contributed to this report
